In the book '"History of Logan County and Ohio: containing a history of the State of Ohio, Stokes Township and Warwick Colony'" written in 1898 (page 578), there is a brief note about Captain John M. Warwick Colony (Stokes Township) Logan County, Ohio His Civil War Pension was paid to his widow, Phoebe Elizabeth Warwick. Richard Thomas Warwick was the last of the original freed slave families that had been settled in Warwick Colony (later Stoke Township), Logan county, Ohio and he died there at the age of 80 on Octoand was buried in Ghormly Cemetery in Lakeview, Logan county.
